How long PageScorch keeps uploaded screenshots, what happens after the retention window expires, and what data is retained.
Last updated May 10, 2026
Uploaded screenshots can contain commercially sensitive content: pricing pages, unreleased product designs, competitor research, or internal marketing materials. PageScorch does not retain screenshots indefinitely.
After a plan-based retention window expires, the screenshot file is deleted. The roast result — the score, problem list, fixes, and verdict — is kept.
| Plan | Screenshot retention | |------|---------------------| | Guest | 30 days after roast creation | | Free (registered) | 60 days after roast creation | | Growth | 180 days (6 months) | | Pro | 180 days (6 months) | | Agency | 365 days (1 year) |
The window starts from the date the roast was created, not the date you last viewed it.
When the retention window expires for a roast:
If a visitor views a shared roast after the screenshot has been deleted, they see an archived placeholder instead of the original image. The rest of the result is unchanged.
When you use the manual HTML paste fallback for a bot-blocked URL roast, the raw pasted HTML is processed and discarded immediately. PageScorch does not store the pasted HTML after analysis completes.
URL roasts do not involve file uploads. PageScorch fetches the page content at analysis time and does not retain a copy of the fetched HTML. The roast result (score and analysis) is retained like any other roast.
Screenshot retention windows apply to individual roast results. For bulk batch items, each item's screenshot follows the same retention schedule as a standalone roast based on the plan active at time of creation.
