What you need

Before you upload, make sure your screenshot meets these requirements:

  • Format: JPEG or PNG
  • Max file size: 4 MB
  • What to capture: The full above-the-fold section of your landing page, or the full page if it's short

A screenshot of a real landing page works better than a mockup. PageScorch analyses what a visitor actually sees — layout, visual hierarchy, button placement, trust signals — so a real browser screenshot gives the most accurate result.

Step 1: Open the roast form

Go to the Roast page. You'll see a file upload area labelled "Upload a screenshot".

Step 2: Upload your screenshot

Click the upload area or drag your screenshot file onto it. The file will upload immediately.

If your file is too large (over 4 MB), compress it first. On Mac, open it in Preview and export at a reduced quality. On Windows, use Paint or any image editor.

Step 3: Submit

Click Analyze Screenshot. PageScorch will:

  1. Send your screenshot to the AI
  2. Analyse the visual layout, copy visibility, CTA placement, trust signals, and conversion structure
  3. Return a conversion score and a list of specific problems and quick wins

If you're signed in, the roast runs in the background and you'll see a progress indicator. If you're a guest, it runs synchronously and results appear directly.

Step 4: Wait for results

Analysis typically takes 10–25 seconds. Do not refresh the page.

Once complete, you'll be taken to your roast result page automatically.

What happens to your screenshot?

Your screenshot is stored temporarily to generate the roast. PageScorch has a retention policy: screenshots are pruned after a set period depending on your plan. They are never shared publicly or used to train AI models.

Troubleshooting

"File too large" — Compress your screenshot below 4 MB.

"Invalid file type" — Make sure the file is JPEG or PNG, not WEBP, HEIC, or PDF.

Analysis failed — This is rare. Wait a few seconds and try again. If it keeps failing, email hello@pagescorch.com.
